I needed to start a court case to modify a childcare sentence. I saw Piedad who explained that she would be able to represent me in court if I gave her a deposit of 600 euros. It then took her 10 weeks to put together an application for a demanda, after she said it would take her 2-3 weeks. When she had drawn it up, after waiting for weeks and with a lot of chasing her up to get it done, it was not at all what we had agreed on, she had changed everything we had spoken about and it was full of errors, including the fact that she put someone's else name in the demanda instead of mine! It looked like she had copied and pasted another client's demanda and forgot to change many of the details! There was no way I could trust her, not only because it had taken 10 weeks to get to this point but because she had not paid any attention to issues that I needed addressing in court. In fact, she had put things in the demanda that would have created the opposite outcome that I was looking for, which clearly showed she didn't have my interest in her mind. I asked for part of my money back, but she refused and kept all 600 euros for 3 one-hour appointments and for what appeared to have been half an hour's work on drawing up the demanda itself. Subsequently, I now have another lawyer who did not take this amount of money upfront, who took 10 days to draw up a demanda (not 10 weeks) and who paid attention to my case and drew up a correct and appropriate demanda that has addressed exactly what I needed. Avoid this lawyer at all costs.
