My previous comments have now twice been somehow deleted by the lawfirm and I received a nasty, threatening email from Gary Newsham. He seems to be manipulating and removing negative reviews to hide the true nature of his practice. There is no option to give 0 stars. This is the most unprofessional law firm I have ever dealt with in my life. I met with the firm in 2016 and paid them to assist them with my residency. They never did any work for me whatsoever. They then didn´t return my calls or emails for at least a year a half. Eventually, they wrote me and agreed to pay half of it back. The only reason I accepted such a terrible offer was that I knew it would be nearly impossible to recover any money from them in Spanish court. I met with another lawyer who told me I would pay the same amount in legal fees and it could take years. I am not alone in my sentiment, just read other reviews posted here. In at least one of his responses, Gary discusses specific details of client's cases which I assume is a breach of confidentiality. Avoid this "firm" like the plague!

Totally incompetent, wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy. Edit* They have been sending me other clients personal documents but mistake, including bank details. Blatant breaches of data protection.

We have once again engaged Lawbird Legal Services to act on our behalf when purchasing a property in Ibiza. Javier and his colleagues. We are again impressed with the great service, communication and efficiency of this company. A very professional service. Thank you all for your help. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend you.

SpainResidency.com aka Lawbird.com NLV application Incorrect information provided, delayed responses despite reminders. Did not turn up for scheduled appointment, only days left before documents expiring I cancelled their service & requested refund - they only offered 20% depsite do nothing

I engaged SpainResidency.com aka Lawbird.com for Non-Lucrative Visa (NLV) application but encountered significant service issues: Timeline Delays: Took 36 days to review my initial documents despite reminders. After advising incorrect police report, resolving this added a further 21 days, causing my documents to near expiration. Documentation Guidance Errors: Late and incorrect advice on required documents (e.g., police certificates), resulting in rework at my expense. Communication Challenges: Multiple follow-up emails/calls WhatsApp were ignored, including scheduled calls. Refund Dispute: Only 20% refund offered despite services not being fully rendered. My request for further resolution was declined. Based on my experience, I advise future clients to carefully consider documented timelines and service guarantees before engaging.

This firm only looks nice and professional. There is nothing behind its shiny office and well groomed employees and managers who are brother and sister. Long story short, they messed up a close relative’s residence. Then the brother admitted to wrong doing and promised compensation, but the next day her sister said the fully opposite thing and cancelled the compensation. They impacted our family members plans negatively, they confessed to wrongdoing, they promised compensation, then they didn’t compensate at all and did not return calls nor answered emails. Just avoid them and you’ll live a happier life.

Total disaster. I do not recommend. Thieves in suits is a good description. Straightforward case and 300 thousand euros missing. I agree with the other reviews. NOT TO BE TRUSTED. Go somewhere else if there is large amounts of money. Don't take the risk they are thieves.

I have been with Lawburd legal service since 2012. They are professional and quite experienced and efficient in dealing with all legal matter. I strongly recommend them for your legal matter. Our biggest disaster. Total lack of communication, professionalism, and consideration for the client. Your lawyer is always ill, or on holiday, or at a funeral, or a course, or in court, or whatever. They miss deadlines, because they don't read the client's emails. They assign you to different lawyers on different days, they make changes, but they don't notify you and they never, never, never return calls. You turn up for a meeting, but nobodies expecting you, always of course, the only way to contact is with the poor secretary or their voicemail. Total feeling of helplessness.

They ensured that the sale of my villa went through smoothly and quickly and took care of everything even cancelling all my utility bills which is such a great help when you are not staying in Spain and don’t speak the language. Lovely and professional teamwork

Be very cautious with this law firm. We had just moved to Spain from Scotland. They were dealing with a very straight forward commercial property matter for us, but their total incompetence made us lose out on a very lucrative business deal. Super friendly up to the point when we deposited funds into their bank account, but once they had that, their friendliness, professionalism, and care & attention changed like flicking a light switch. Everything went downhill from that point. and when things go wrong, they blatantly lie and just stop taking calls to discuss how to rectify problems. In addition, we paid them a substantial initial deposit, but we were then later billed for hours of additional time which we were not advised about, the price to us tripled from their original quote even though job complexity remained the same. I have never come across such lazy & untrustworthy lawyers in my life and since we have started asking around, we have heard many other horror stories considerably worse than ours.

I am incredibly grateful for my lawyer and their amazing team. They not only provided expert legal guidance but also showed genuine care and compassion throughout the entire process. Their trustworthiness and kindness made me feel at ease, and I always knew I was in good hands. They truly made me feel at home during a challenging time. Beware these people.They handled a small court case for us. Total neglect throughout. Since last Sept we have sent email after email to request a meeting to discuss the matter. They simply refused to respond. Donot trust them.

We engaged Lawbird in March 2021 to handle our property affairs. During the course of this engagement, money was deposited into a client account. Antonio Flores and his team withdrew over 20.000€ of funds out of this client account without consent and now refuse to even respond to our emails. Thieves dressed in suits.

Roberto Sánchez Saavedra was helping me to buy an apartment and his services were excellent. There were few obstacles along the way and Roberto solved everything instantly without any problems. They also have a perfect After Sales department managing secondary tasks like setting up utility contracts and direct debits. I was guided all the way and everything was always fully explained

We rented a large villa in Marbella for the whole of July '22 for our honeymoon, and it was far from the luxury offering it claimed. By the end of the third week we were so cross about all the failings we asked for a quarter of the rental to be returned, and the owner did not respond, as in all the previous complaints we had made. With only 4 days to go before we left I contacted Lawbird with the details. Less than 15 minutes later I had an email with all the information I needed about the obligations of property renter and an offer of further help. I used this to write to the owner and agents and that afternoon we received 10,000 euros returned in compensation. Gary and his specialist property colleague were absolutely brilliant - no fuss, completely on the ball, really trying to help, and with lightning quick response. Top notch, and nice with it.

I have absolutely no reservations in giving Lawbirds 5 stars for their conveyancing team, and particularly Javier Arboledas who has managed two property purchases for myself and my husband in the last 12 months, as well as a property sale, and we received a great service each time. Excellent, honest and caring law firm. My main contact over several years was with Luis. Luis worked on my case over many years and dealt with lots of setbacks while also keeping my confidence high. Finally getting the winning result. Luis is also a very caring human being apart from an excellent solicitor. I am very grateful to Lawbird and especially Luis. Very happy with Lawbird's services. My case was rather tricky but the guidance and actions taken by the experienced team were really helpful.

I called Lawbird since I needed some documents certified. Over the phone, the clerk Gary told me that it would be no problem and I should simply pop by after 11 and there’d be plenty of lawyers there to help me. I drive for over half an hour just to be told (again by Gary) that they’re suddenly short-staffed and asked if I could stick around in the area and he’d call me back that afternoon. Hours go by until I finally decide to call the office. Now Gary tells me dismissively that ultimately they won’t be able to help me because I’m a new client and “none of the lawyers know me” and they’re not willing to put their name behind me. For crying out loud, I needed a copy of my passport verified — something quite routine. He mumbles something resembling an apology and meanwhile, I ended up wasting an entire day due to Gary’s incompetence. It’s safe to say that, should I ever be in need of legal assistance or counselling in southern Spain, I will not be contacting Lawbird.

I have a long standing law dispute against Rothschild being conducted by Lawbird. I have found the team very helpful and informative. I see them infrequently but when I do they are very good. Annabel particularly is excellent.
