We are very pleased that we used legal services when purchasing an apartment. Mrs. Carolina Martin demonstrated reliability already during our first e-mail contact. She responded very quickly to our request for legal support when purchasing an apartment. She explained to us clearly how the real estate purchase procedure will proceed and what her role as a lawyer may be, and emphasized that her company is independent and does not cooperate with any real estate agency, which can help avoid bias when assessing real estate. As foreigners, we did not have a NIE number or a bank account. Within a few days, the lawyer obtained a NIE number for us and opened a bank account in a Spanish bank. We found the apartment through the Comprarcasa Real Estate Agency (which we also highly recommend) and from the moment we made the decision, Mrs. Carolina Martin personally negotiated the terms of purchase with the seller on our behalf. During the first meeting, we granted power of attorney to Mrs. Carolina Martin. At the same time, Mrs. Carolina Martin checked the legal status of the apartment, all registers and the legal status of the building. I must mention that we wrote the first e-mail on 26/06/23, we met the lawyer for the first time on 03/07/23, on 05/07/23 we found an apartment and on 03/08/23 we signed the notarial deed. Without the excellent work of Carolina Martin our house sale in Spain probably would not have happened. Her attention to detail, her persistence, and her refusal to accept onerous clauses from the buyer made what was a bruising experience bearable.
