We used Sun Lawyers to purchase our apartment in Cabo Riog and we were so impressed from start to finish. They gave a date of completion within 3 months and were correct to the exact day. We were kept aware of proceedings on a regular basis, at least a few times a week which was so helpful as we are used to the Irish system which takes many months with little updates. I must admit that the only thing is that if I’d have known it was all so seamless to purchase I’d have done it years ago. I thought that this service was brilliant and then earlier this year they contacted me to arrange to get my tax affairs up to date and they were very efficient with this side of the business too. We used Sun Lawyers when we bought our place in Spain seven years ago. The buying process was smooth, pain free and quick. Angie McMillan of Sun Lawyers even saw that some things were missing from the Deeds and corrected it. She arranged our NIE numbers, sorted out a POA and made the appointment with the notary when needed. Sun Lawyers also liaised with the utility companies to open the water and electric accounts in our name and also liased with Iberdrola when we needed the KW output raised. Angie is a consumate professional as well as a really nice person. Spanish conveyancing law is very different to conveyancing in the United Kingdom so to have the services of a lawyer who not only understands Spanish law but also speaks very good English and explains things in an easy to understand way made our lives so much easier. Over the years we have paid a nominal retainer annually for their services and they not only undertook our tax returns, any time we had any questions whatsoever, Angie was there to answer them. Seven years later we decided to sell our house in Spain and did not hesitate to ask Angie to help us with the legal side of the selling paperwork. Again the process was efficient and easy. Any time the estate agents wanted information, a quick email to Angie and the paperwork appeared within hours if not sooner. I used another Spanish lawyer before finding Angie through a friend, the lawyer I used before was significantly more expensive for the same service and in the end I just didn’t trust my first lawyer after he let me down significantly and cost me the sale of my property and the 15k deposit, too many details for here but finding Angie through my friend was a godsend, her company was not only cheaper but the service was super superior and efficient, wish I had gone to Angie from the beginning but as they say you learn from your mistakes. Additionally Angie has perfect English which is a massive positive as you can miss some critical points with a non English first language speaking lawyers. I absolutely recommend Angie and I know iff you use her company you will not be disappointed or baffled by Lawyer speak or as I was ripped off by my previous lawyer.
