Excellent service!!

After the purchase of our home in August 2022, we were told by Sunlawyers via email in September 2022 that the IBI property tax was going to be on direct debit the following year. Since this is one of the services for which we paid their very expensive property purchase legal fee, we trusted them to look after this matter and keep us informed on any important update relevant to us on this topic. One year later, in November 2023, we have to pay a penalty for the delayed payment of IBI, because we never received the invoice in time, as the Suma (the tax agency in charge of property taxes) sent it to Sunlawyers in August 2023, who were still considered our legal representative for the Suma without us being aware of it. What shocked me the most was Joanna intimidating and blaming tone to us, her clients, after confronting her with the facts with written evidence (anyone wanting to see this, please contact me). Not a word of apology (what usually companies with integrity do, when they commit an act of negligence), nor any acknowledgment on her side of the fact that their address should have not been given to Suma on our account one year after the purchase of the home, and if it still was, we should have been informed from them about it. She showed absolute disregard for the evidence (so much for a lawyer) and absolutely no remorse for their disservice to us, her clients, on the contrary she made unfounded accusations to us, avoiding taking any responsibility in the matter. NOW in December 20 2023, more than one year after the purchase of the home, after all what happened and my persistent request, they finally send us the official document to sign in order to discharge them from any Suma communications in our name. No words of apology for the fact that we paid a penalty for their negligence of not having done this one year ago. Be VERY WARY of this law firm. My impression, after all this, is that they take advantage of foreigners who do not speak Spanish and therefore cannot navigate the Spanish bureaucratic system. They avoid taking any responsibility for their negligence by aggressively blaming the clients back, when confronted with facts. Their clients are for the most non-Spanish speaking and therefore can easily be taken advantage of with such intimidating tactics. I am available to help anyone having a bad experience with this lawyer, as I can navigate the Spanish burocratic system more now and I speak Spanish. I find it shameful how they behaved and want to offer my help to any innocent client victim of such behaviour from this law firm.

Unfortunately in Spain finding a trustworthy and reliable lawyer is not easy. The experience shared here is soon to be published in the media, this story is about how a hardworking family who sought legal assistance. Having explained the circumstances to Jose Maria Lomax lawyer it was agreed to hold to account and make a claim against the competitor business. A number of incidents had occurred causing damages to the family business, loss in trade, and a lot of anxiety and stress.
